This project is a communication tool designed to help people with dementia and their loved ones engage in multisensory stimulation and cognitive training through a sensory book and an app, without relying heavily on care professionals.

 

The goal is for people with dementia—who may find daily activities difficult—to use this tool together with their loved ones, helping them recall long-term memories and train their cognitive functions through the sensory book.

 

The sensory book combines light, soft, and warm materials, realistic images, and a synchronised app that provides audio guidance and visual elements in response to interactions with the book. This combination was developed and tested to provide more effective multisensory stimulation and cognitive training.​
